I graduated in Fine Art at De Montfort University, Lincoln in 2002. 'Marks in space: time based pieces of work in 2 and 3D. The marks made and processes given have their own intimate moments with time and have a specific relationship to their space. Working with adults who have learning difficulties has led me to study the methods they use in their creative and home life. This has led me to think about the processes I use and why they use repetition as a method. Everyday activities have defining processes that take place, through the repetitiveness of these activities the mind recognises the safe and familiar methods involved. Feeling safe and secure the mind is able to relax and find the intimate space of a daydream. The dreams have no beginning and no end, no defined distance in which it occupies the spaces between reality. I have generated workshops for community projects, schools and colleges involving students of all ages and abilities, built on the direct responses of the participants to the space/environment they are in, using materials found on location, natural of man made. |
